About the Event
In the fall of 1990. Kwame Vear and Lamel Watson wanted to provide an outlet for the growing number of Hip Hop artists whose work went largely ignored by corporate and mainstream radio. They decided to create a radio show and use it as a platform for others to be heard.
Titled "HardCore Righteousness", their radio show was the first Hip Hop program to broadcast on City College's WHCR 90.3 FM radio station in Harlem, New York City.
In the summer of 2004, "Hardcore Righteousness" changed its name to the "Equilibrium Radio Show", to better reflect the sense of balance that the show managed to bring to the airwaves. Over the years, it has maintained through the contributions of many including, Priest Forever, D Nasty, Crys Breezy, DJ Blas, CeeAyy, Mrs Nee-Nee and others.
